Importance of Prayers By Quran

When you go forth journeying in the land, there is no blame on you if you shorten the Prayer, (especially) if you fear that the unbelievers might cause you harm. Surely the unbelievers are your open enemies.” (4:101)

Another Ayat;

And establish prayer and give zakah, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves – you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah of what you do, is Seeing.” (2:110)

Importance of Prayers By Hadiths,

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

For everything, there is a face, and the face of your religion is prayers. So see to it that none from amongst you damages and disfigures the face of his religion.” (Biharul Anwar, Volume 82, Page 209)

Juristic Methods for Asr Prayers

Mainly, there are two general juristic opinions for Asr prayers. These are

Hanafi opinions.

According to firqa Hanafi, Asr prayer starts when an object’s shadow’s length becomes double the original object’s length at noon. Hanafi’s opinion is the dominant opinion.

All Other Firqa’s Opinion Except Hanafi

According to all other schools, including Ja’fari, Hanbali, Shafi’i, and Maliki, the time of Asr prayer starts when the length of an object’s shadow becomes equal to the length of an object.

After all, the Asr prayer ends at the same time in all the firqas.
